Some of the pieces you purchase may not be in-stock and will therefore have variable lead times depending on the demand, this is outlined on the product page. All orders placed are subject to the acceptance by the Purchaser of these Standard Terms and Conditions which may only be varied by mutual written agreement.

  1. A contract is created between you and us when you place the order for your goods by clicking on the confirm order button at the end of the checkout process and complete your payment process
  2. Prices quoted are with VAT included where applicable. 
  3. Delivery charges will be shown as a separate item on checkout.
  4. Our lead times are to be referred to as a guide only and may be subject to change, due to circumstances outside our control, including supply-side delays.
  5. It is the customer’s responsibility to check the order form and confirm that all products and address details are correct.
  6. We reserve the right to cancel any order at any time for whatever reason, in which case all funds paid will be returned.
  7. The principal reasons that would lead to a non-acceptance of an order include: The goods ordered are unavailable from stock, authorisation for your payment was declined.
  8. Items are delivered by 2-man delivery standard as serviced as standard, which includes delivery to room of choice and removal of all rubbish.
  9. Items can be reserved in the checkout for a maximum of 1 hour whereby they will be available for public sale thereafter.
  10. Deliveries to the mainland UK incur our standard delivery cost outlined on the checkout page. Some areas may incur additional charges. 
  11. At this time we cannot sell outside of the UK via our eCommerce store. For further help about this, please get in touch.
  12. Full payment is required for any item purchased online.
  13. We can store goods up to one week free of charge at our discretion. If you wish to store your goods for longer than one week, storage charges may apply.
  14. ‘Custom-made’ items with custom sizes, finishes, engravings and additional features, where required, should be advised at the point of sale and will be confirmed on the order confirmation.
  15. We supply high quality furniture-grade wood. This may vary for natural variations in the wood, including grain, colour, knots and other markings. We do our best to select and match as appropriate but we cannot accept returns on the basis of natural variations. 
  16. It is the customer’s responsibility to ensure that all measurements of furniture purchased are checked to ensure accessibility. Any bespoke items of furniture that we are unable to deliver as a result of problems involving access that were not mentioned in writing at time of order will not be refunded. Standard items of furniture that cannot be delivered as a result of access problems will be refunded the cost of the items, however, we are unable to refund the cost of delivery.
  17. Please be aware that although our delivery drivers take every care when delivering your products, we cannot be held responsible for any damages that occur to your property or possessions whilst the delivery is in process. It is your responsibility to take every care to cover any carpets or furniture and remove any valuables from the delivery area.
  18. In the event of a delivery being received damaged, please sign the delivery paperwork as damaged. Please report any damage to the delivery team as soon as possible and before use. Photos of the damaged items and any relevant packaging need to be sent to Sitting Firm at Gaze Burvill within 24 hours of arrival. Failure to comply with any of the above procedures will invalidate your guarantee.
  19. We work hard to ensure your goods arrive in a perfect condition. However, if you should find any problem with your order please contact us at
  20. Please do not attempt to fix the problem yourself, contact us first. We are unable to accept any goods back if changes have been made, as it will invalidate the manufacturer’s warranty.
  21. We warrant our Windsor Chairs to the original owner to be free from defects in materials and workmanship for 30 years. Our Dining Tables carry a warranty of 10 years. This warranty does not apply to damage resulting from improper maintenance, misuse, negligence, accidents, abuse or exposure to extreme climatic conditions.   22. Sitting Firm at Gaze Burvill will manufacture all products in accordance with their appropriate use and does not accept responsibility for any failure of a product resulting from negligence, vandalism, inappropriate or unreasonable use.
  23. If the item is intended for an environment with heavy extended use, such as a cafe, bar or restaurant, this must be flagged at the point of sale so appropriate measures can be taken concerning item build, finish and associated warranty
  24. Because of the natural nature of our products and the processes employed in their manufacture, there may be minor colour variations between product supplied, samples and illustrations.
  25. This agreement shall be governed by and construed in accordance with English law. Each of the parties irrevocably submits for all purposes in connection with this agreement to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England.
  26. Sitting Firm at Gaze Burvill will not be responsible for natural processes which may change the colour of materials over time.
  27. The purchaser agrees that anything ordered is for your own personal use and you will not re-sell it.
  28. All Intellectual Property Rights, design rights and the like including drawings, renderings or illustrations shall be and remain property of Sitting Firm at Gaze Burvill and the purchaser shall not be entitled to or claim, and shall procure that its affiliates, associates, agents and buyers from the purchaser do not claim ownership of any such Intellectual Property Rights. Nothing in this agreement shall give the purchaser, its affiliates, associates, agents or buyers from the purchaser any proprietary interest in the designs which cannot be copied without the consent of Sitting Firm at Gaze Burvill.
  29. The purchaser agrees that the designs will be used by the purchaser in the form in which are received and, in particular, without addition, adulteration, alteration or contamination of any kind whatsoever. The purchaser further agrees not to alter the visible design of the items in any way or to remove, obliterate or otherwise deface the Sitting Firm at Gaze Burvill marks appearing thereon.
  30. The purchaser agrees that this agreement cannot be considered as a transfer of design rights, IP rights, branding rights, trademarks or copyright held by Sitting Firm at Gaze Burvill
  31. On accepting these terms and conditions, Sitting Firm at Gaze Burvill have the right to use any images in social media, unless the purchaser has advised otherwise in writing.
  32. Any indemnity or relief from or limit of liability in favour of Sitting Firm at Gaze Burvill shall extend to and apply for the benefit of their respective directors, employees and authorised agents.
