Meet the Maker – Darren Vincent

How long have you been with Sitting Firm?
I have been with Sitting Firm since December 2020, I was previously with Gaze Burvill for 3 years.

Tell us about what you do?
I am currently the Sitting Firm Team Leader which is mainly involved with making sure the Sitting Firm workshop is working properly.

What do you love most about your role?
Being able to learn a lot of new skills involved in the making of Windsor chairs like CNC operating and steam bending and being more involved with planning how the company will expand and grow.

What is the most challenging part about your job?
Making sure the day to day running of the workshop runs smoothly so that jobs go out on time.

What are you most proud of?
Due to the covid pandemic I had to keep the manufacturing side of Sitting Firm going by myself for a few months, it was challenging but I managed to do it which I’m proud of

What is something on your bucket list?
Backpacking around India
